  • Record number of visitors today???

Lots of people checking in today, and its not even 11:11 yet on the EAST coast, so there is still four hours to go before the big "announcement" by the original four Sabbath members. As many of you know, the record number of visitors here at one time is 258, set on the day that Ronnie James Dio passed away, I'm thinking that 11/11/11 may be the day that sets the new record, for a much more hopeful reason.

We've already gone down once today, I wonder if we will break the record.

I think this could smash the previous record of visitors. Hopefully we get lots of new, members out of this (open minded please) and Joe gets lots of banner clicks. I just noticed that one of his ads is for P90X, I was buying it today anyway- hopefully by entering through his website he makes a couple bucks off my purchase. Spread the word guys, let's drive the traffic in here and help our Webmaster get paid for everything he provides for us.

(I am guessing 413 visitors on at once at some point during the day.)
The blind men shout "Let the creatures out, we'll show the unbelievers."
The napalm screams of human flames, of a prime time Belsen feast ... yeah!
As the reasons for the carnage cut their meat and lick the gravy.
We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies.

Well, the number of visitors is just for the forums. It's not for the site itself. That's different. I'd have to run my server logs for that.

And even then, as my site crashed about half a dozen times this morning, I won't have a 100% accurate report, because you can't log anything while being crashed.

OK, I ran the report. It's 11:30 as I type this on Friday night (UTC -6). The report covered today, up until 30 minutes ago, so it's the first 23 hours of Friday.

          1,698,657 hits
          244,198 page views
          123,187 visitors

By comparison, the numbers for Nov 1st:

          216,725 hits
          40,599 page views
          5,583 visitors

The final numbers from today will be higher, as 23:00 to 23:59 aren' in the report. Additionally, with all the crashes earlier today, the total outage was probably about an hour and a half. Lots of missed numbers there. Oh well.

          Edit: While I'm at it..

          Firefox has 28.88% of visitors
          Google Chrome was 27.04%
          Internet Explorer was 23.80%
          Safari was 4.88%
          Mobile Safari (iPhone/iPad) was 3.60%
          Android Browser was 2.76%
          Opera was 2.53%

Everything else was below 1%, and there are 43 other browsers on the list.

I'm sure I'm one of many many people to register at this time.

Don't have a clue what that all means. Just pleased to be a small part of the best music site around.

I know this thread was posted quite a while ago, but the number of visitors seems to be declining.

Yes, maybe that's because a massive press conference announcing the first studio album from the original four members since 1978 happened on the day I started this thread. When there is relevant Sabbath news out there, our visitors increase, during slow times, there are less visitors. Since the reunion fell apart, if yet another press conference is held to announce that the original four are trying again together, you will see the visitors increase yet again. See how that works?
