The solo Criss Oliva does on Savatage's "Conversation Piece" is a masterpiece of speed and precision, carefully constructed. I can play that, even though it is wicked fast and hard as hell. Lots of different scale and octave changes.

You are a master at guitar if you can play that solo, or any other Criss Oliva solo for that matter

Criss Oliva was the man. Miss him dearly.
The time it is coming when all life will end,
With doomsday approaching to hell we'll descend.
Religion won't save me, the damage is done.
The future has ended before it's begun.

Amen, So Do I, Metal Lost An Unappreciated Genius And I Lost A Dear Friend.

This Is The Fastest Solo I Know How To Play, And It Took Several Embarresing Tries And Months Of Studying It To Get It Right. How He Was Able To Play This Live And Make It Sound Exactly The Same Way Is Astounding.

Mr. Crowley is basic minor shapes and pretty simple. Randy Rhoads worked out almost all of his solos. Stairway to Heaven had three solos, all improvised and Jimmy chose his favourite and added the slides. Now working on the Song Remains the Same. Not that fast, but tricky enough.

Right now,the fastest solo I can play,is the first solo in the song Speed Of Light by Stratovarius,it's actually a keyboard solo but I transcribed it on my guitar. Also the fastest song I can play right now is Wolf & Raven by Sonata Arctica.

I do a lot of solos. Mr.Crowley is a toughie so be proud if you can play it. I play A LOT of the Iommi solos, I cando most from first album into Born Again, where Iommi starts getting really difficult.

Mr. Crowley and Over the Mountain right now. I used to be able to do the Trapped Under Ice beginning solo by Kirk Hammet but I got bored with it and forgot. I also know Dime's Rise solo note for note. Dime's stuff is probably the most difficult.

I think one of the best things about Dime was his tight, tight, tight tone.

Not just his tone. Everything about his playing was very tight, and very precise.

I just learned most of the solo for The Four Horsemen by Metallica. I'm about halfway through the fast part near the end of it.

I think mine would be Goodbye To Romance.

                            The blood runs free
                            The rain turns red

Goodbye to Romance is pretty rough, mostly near the end. How Randy coul have written those awesome solos is beyond me.
