Re: Post Your Own Material - Thread

I wrote another instrumental demo from a previous one, this one dedicated to a dear old friend of mine who died last summer. Emily RIP. And yes, I'm aware that I might be out of tune, but this is a DEMO, a DEMO. Without further ado:

      Emily's Goodbye (Demo)

      Comments appreciated.
"Even with so much bad blood between us... It's funny... Now that I'm actually face to face with him again... The hatred is gone. All I feel is a deep sense of longing. And pity. Did Zero really hate me? Or... Did he fear me?" - Big Boss

this is a short demo for now called run. the vocals aren't that great
as i'm not a singer. the subject matter may be too controversial for here
i don't know. it's about a angry person who goes on a shooting spree. it needs more work but here it is as is.

              now you run
              (now you f**k'n run)

              black shadow becomes
              crimson red
              something's creeping
              could you see me there

              like a good pig
              point and stare
              couldn't keep your parasites
              to yourself

you were right about me all along
              mass murderer
now it's going to be all wrong
now i'm just my f**kn gun
              you've earased my face
the time has come to repay

              now you run
              (now you f**k'n run)

Computer God, You are pretty good at bass man! I liked the song you guys did, it's pretty good, and you guys sound good for your first show. Maybe it's just the recording but I don't like your one guitar player's tone (one on the right) but other than that man, spot on.

8Bit, man keep it up I like what I heard there!

-z-, are you using a drum machine or a real drummer? Cause those are some good drums there! I liked the song, your singing is okay, not bad at all. Good direction I think, I like how it sounds.

SoonerFan, liked Barrage a lot! Really cool dude! keep em coming I'm looking forward to hearing more from you and the rest of you guys!

and Niklas, Good job as usual bro keep it up!

Re: Post Your Own Material - Thread

After thirty years of listening/learning/playing classical music on the guitar, my favorite is perhaps Midsummer's Daydream, usually tied for that distinction with a beautifully haunting piece called Moonchild.

This is one of the most accomplished pieces of music I think has ever been recorded, multiple styles are cross-sectioned in the original 1:34 instrumental. It's taking several years to figure out and master, because it is an extremely difficult piece to play.

It's done on a Yamaha C40 Classical Acoustic with Nylon Strings and a 19 fret Javanese Rosewood fretboard.

                      Midsummer's Daydream Cover

You can hear a major mistake at 0:54 as well as me announcing it.

Good job Ashley. I have always had respect for classical guitar players. I am in the process of incorporating more of it into my daily practice routine. Like I said though, really good job.
