                            • Chess - Originals (Blues Compilation)
Dani Wilde - Heal My Blues & Shine
Tommy Bolin - Whips and Roses Vols. 1+2
The Pretty Reckless - Light Me Up
                              Florence & The Machine - 2 Lungs

These last two choices surprised me and up until a week a go I would have laughed if told me I would buy them - never mind listen to them.

I'd heard of TPR but was sceptical - an actress fronting a band, blah blah blah - I fell into the common metal-head trap of being narrow-minded. I heard a couple of the tracks by TPR - Make Me Wanna Die and Just Tonight and they were pretty good songs and she has a remarkably good voice. I look forward to hearing more of the album.

As for Florence, a worryingly poppy choice. Pop music usually makes me squirm - it is 99.9999% of the time insipid trash but a bit I heard of this got me curious and the price was low enough to take a chance and it was the expanded edition too so should teh album be along the lines of what little I heard great - if not, the difference between the standard version was only £1 so it isn't too much of a loss. Fingers crossed!
