Yngwie Malmsteen - Facing the Animal - sounds much more of a band effort and once again Cozy's drums empower another rhythm secton. 8/10

Nightwish - Dark Passion Play - Disappointing. Musically the albums great but to me the vocals just don't work, don't get me the new vocalist (her name escapes me) sounds very talented but for me she doesn't have the right voice for the material which to me sounds like it needs Tarja's golden touch on them. (And I hate the fact that I feel like the "ozzy is sabbath/halford is priest" knid of fan but I cannot help what I feel) 7/10

    Also picked up:
Gamma Ray - Skeletons In The Closet
Manowar - Fighting The World, Kings Of Metal and Earthshaker Fest DVD
Arch Enemy - Rise Of The Tyrant
"But that is not the question. Why are we here, that is the question. And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come."
    - Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot

“Music does not influence research work, but both are nourished by the same sort of longing, and they complement each other in the release they offer.”
—Albert Einstein --- To Paul Plaut, October 23, 1928. AEA 28–065

I'm going to be ordering Scorpions' "Virgin Killer." My 10-year-old cassette of that finally took a crap. At least I've already got "In Trance" on CD. Ulrich Roth is a really underated guitar player. He burns on "Tokyo Tapes."
