It's not really. It's 22.20 PM here. But what the heck, I'll do it anyway

I want to honor "The Shining"! The opening track from "The Eternal Idol" that brought Sabbath back to me! I'm so old that I was buying the albums from the 80's when they came out and I thought Sabbath was lost after Born Again and Seventh Star. The Eternal Idol was such a relief!

I like the shining. I love the keyboards to it.

I feel like it so I will honor another song.

This one is well known of course but I still think it deserves some praise...

snowblind.

I think this song is so catchy and I especially like the part where Ozzy sings "dont ya think I know what Im doin". This song is a masterpiece.

good music, bad lyric references sometimes i'm a bit edgy about listening to it, but i've always ignored the lyrics upon knowing it's reference. it is for or against cocaine?

The Shining... awesome. A great start to a great album, and a great way to introduce the new lineup... although I'm now a bit more skeptical of it since it's known to be written in 1984.

It is talking about how they feel on cocaine, Rar.

Anyways, the song for today is Forbidden.

I like it. That is all I can say about it.

It's a common thing, the parts of Sabbath history that don't fit the simple picture are being phased out.

Anyways, I love the title track from Forbidden and the fact that the album was named after it shows that Iommi and company had a soft spot for it as well. Very simple and powerful, yet effective, I wonder why it was never played live. I also like the acid lyrics, probably it was Tony Martin venting his anger at those fans who come to the show to hear Iron Man and War Pigs, and then say that everything but Ozzy version of the band sucks! Don't know if it's true, it's what I see in these lyrics.
But it could be another "sick and tired" type of lyrics.

no. the thread is called daily honoring of sabbath songs, not daily honoring of all songs closely related to sabbath or it's members and their solo careers. why not just include Ohmwork and Gillan's Inn? Next we'd be having KISS songs on here.

Country Girl - Great song! Fits perfectly on an album like Mob Rules, where all the songs are fantastic.

Wheels of Confusion/The Straightener - haven't given it a good enough listen to say something honestly.

Sorry I'm late, the Country Girl is a great song. I like the lyrics, really, a cool mixture of love song and Ronnie's signature mystical theme.
