    Default Another Wicked World version?

On this Ebay link, it is presented an old vynil version of the first album of Black Sabbath. I want to know if one of you know the old version of Wicked World (as presented there) and what differences it has from the vesion that most of us knows?

Its not saying theres a different version of Wicked World. Its saying its a different version of the LP that contains the song, instead of Evil Woman.

The only thing different about Wicked World is that its in stereo, not mono, but its not exactly an "alternate version".

Not the American version. It was on the England version. The American version had Evil Woman in its place.

    Track Listing

Well, this depends on what version you have. The different versions vary insofar as the names of the songs go, but only one main difference exists that I'm aware of. The European version has "Evil Woman" as the first song of side two, whereas the US version has Wicked World instead. The 1996 Castle remaster has both of these songs on it. The 2004 version on Black Box is even more convoluted.

    European Original

    1. Black Sabbath
    2. The Wizard
    3. Behind the Wall of Sleep
    4. N.I.B.
    5. Evil Woman
    6. Sleeping Village
    7. Warning

    US/Warner Original

    1. Black Sabbath
    2. The Wizard
    3. Behind the Wall of Sleep *
    4. N.I.B. @
    5. Wicked World
    6. Sleeping Village %
    7. Warning

    '96 Castle Remaster

    1. Black Sabbath
    2. The Wizard
    3. Behind the Wall of Sleep
    4. N.I.B.
    5. Evil Woman
    6. Sleeping Village
    7. Warning
    8. Wicked World

    '04 Remaster (Black Box)

    1. Black Sabbath
    2. The Wizard
    3. Wasp / Behind the Wall of Sleep / Bassically / N.I.B.
    4. Wicked World
    5. A Bit of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning
    6. Evil Woman

Yeh I cant stand wicked world on my US version of the album. I grew up listening to the original vinyl back home in the UK, and was like wtf is this when I heard it in place of evil woman. Dont get me wrong wicked world is good but it's just weird to hear it on the first album.

Wicked World was also the B-side of Sabbath's first single (Evil Woman). It was pushed out by Phillips and then Vertigo (a Phillips offshoot), but neither issue did any business. In the UK, it first arrived in album-length format with the release of We Sold Our Soul for Rock 'n' Roll. None of the band wanted to record Evil Woman - it was done at Phillips' insistence so that the record company might be able to generate interest in the album with what they obviously felt was a commercial song.
