Default what 's the last movie you saw ( cinema/DVD/TV) ?

"The Cell" by Tarsem Singh ( 2000)
cast : Vincent d' Onofrio , Vince Vaughn , Jennifer Lopez , Patrick Bauchau

Amazing story and a great performance of V. d' Onofrio like a serial killer deep fallen into a irreversible coma .
one and only solution to save his last victim : A risked trip into his tortured subconscious
A big image creativity : desert scenes , the horse cut , the first meeting d' Onofrio/Lopez incredible scene , suspended killer above the chlorined corpse ...
The voyages of J. Lopez leave traces .

Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol. I am a fan of the original series and like some of the movies but this one was really good.
Awesome effects and lots of action makes this one a winner.

Just seen Prometheus a very good film, I will have to see it again as there is so much to it that I'm sure there's a lot I missed.

I've seen 29 films this year (I won't bore you with the details of all of them), but the ones I've enjoyed most were :

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
John Carter (ignore the critics, It's A LOT better than reviewed)
    The Woman In Black
    The Avengers
    Cabin In The Wood
    Men In Black 3
    Prometheus

    Looking forward to:

The Amazing Spiderman (to an extent, I'm not a huge fan of the earlier films)
    The Dark Knight Rises (obviously!)
    Brave
    Ted
    Ice Age 4
    The Bourne Legacy (maybe)
    The Hobbit Part 1

Just saw Prometheus. Spectacular first half but a 2nd half that leaves you wondering if the writer just gave up and said fuck it.

    Prometheus

A huge dissapointment.... Moved on waaaaaaay too slow... The final 5 minutes was good but that was pretty much it. The 3D worked pretty well though.
It was pretty much nothing but a slow paced set up for the Alien saga, but Scott really lost the ball with all of the pseudo philosophy crap.

Oh and Noomi Rapace was just damn awful...her british accent was out loud laughable. That bitch couldn't act even if her life depended on it. Idris Elba was great as usual and Charlize Theron was pretty good, but left too much in the background.

^ I liked Evil Dead 2 but for me the first was better. Not as much comedy in it. Of course really I guess you could say there was many comic moments. The second was just a bit too 3 stooges for me. Still a very good sequel.

    " The Debt " by John Madden ( 2011 )

In 1965, Mossad agent Rachel Singer (Jessica Chastain/Helen Mirren ) arrives in East Berlin to meet with fellow agents David Peretz (Sam Worthington) and Stefan Gold (Marton Csokas). Their mission is to capture Nazi war criminal Dieter Vogel (Jesper Christensen) – infamously known as "The Surgeon of Birkenau" for his horrific pseudo-medical experiments on Jews during World War II – and bring him to Israel to face justice.

    Fantastic ! and I love Helen Mirren ( Caligula , Excalibur ... )

Just seen Rock Of Ages. Not brilliant by any means but I've seen worse ... the Soundtrack Album should be good.

Very simple plot ... basically just links between the songs. And although there was a lot of crap hair metal music back in the 80s, they have actually managed to select mostly good ones ... for instance I'm not a big fan of Bon Jovi but I did like Wanted Dead or Alive and that's the Bon Jovi song they use. The renditions of the songs by the actors were perfectly acceptable.

Hell Driver ( 2011 ) with Nicolas Cage , William Fichtner, David Morse and the very hot Amber Heard and Charlotte Ross

Action , Violence , Gunfight , erotic bimbos , everything for a good soiree .
Fichtner appears in a impeccable sobriety . The scene of the evening after the bar 'is certainly not to miss !
in line with the movie- cult Machete

    Snow White and the Huntsman

The only reason I went was because the old lady wanted to see it. She was disappointed that the Hunstman never took off his shirt, I was disappointed 'cause it sucked Cool special effects though if you're into that sort of thing.

    Reign of Fire ( 2002 )

surely the best performance of Matthew McConaughey , unusual in this kind of role . Christian Bale himself is eclipsed by .
The scene with the Arch Angels hunting a dragon is my favorite , also the invasion of devastated town of London

Over the weekend I saw the following on rental:

The Muppets - Pretty good, if you don't like the Muppets you probably spent you're childhood in misery.

A Dangerous Method - about the early years of psychoanalysis with Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud. Totally tedious drama and switched off after 30-odd minutes.

    Mystic River - Excellent thriller.

Conan The Barbarian - The remake, - the fight scenes had possibilities that were never fully realized. The dialogues were spinning poor Robert E, Howard in his grave. Overall decent action with little cohesive story structure....... 6/10 = almost crap!

How I wished a 30 year old Arnold appeared and slew his concrete doppelganger.

Snow White And The Huntsman, not bad but I I think it could have been better with someone (anyone) else in the lead role, not a fan of Kirsten Stewart.

Vincent Cassel is as Evil as the Black side of Nathalie Portman/Nina . The final scene is a must see .....like the Sapphic Scene with Mila Kunis !!

Ironclast ( 2011 ) directed by Jonathan English

with the great Brian Cox , the genius Paul Giamatti as King John of England and Charles Dance ( Dr Clemens in Alien 3 )

The fight scenes are recreated as the Middle Ages: Ultra realistic

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter - not the worst film I've ever seen, not as cheesy as the title might suggest, can't comment on how faithful the adaptation from the book is.

A cheesy, horror-comedy film from 1973 called Theatre of Blood, starring Vincent Price. He plays a vengeful Shakespearean actor who murders his critics using methods derived from Shakespeare's plays. Entertaining flick!
