About a week ago I witnessed Ozzfest in Denver and was completely blown away. Easily the greatest concert/event that I have ever seen. The second stage had some cool bands. The singer for Every Time I Die made some comments about how "dead" the audience was and by the end of their set the entire crowd had their backs turned to the stage with their middle fingers in the air. After their set they stormed off the stage like a bunch of little girls. Luckily, every other band kicked ass. Otep has the voice of SATAN! Very sweet. Slipknot and Hatebreed were also very energetic and got the crowd going. I was in the pit during every band on the main stage and it was an absolutely amazing show. Black Label started it off and Zakk is easily one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Holy Shit, he kicked ass! Superjoint was pretty good. Phil talks too much, but the band is still solid. They got some good tunes. Dimmu Borgir was my least favorite.

I can't say they absolutely sucked, it's just that "Norweigen black fucking metal" really isn't my bag. Slayer was amazing. The whole place went berzerk during their entire performance. Tom almost looked surprised at how crazy the crowd was. Backstage I could see Rob Halford watching their set. He even looked impressed. Preist then played and were pretty damn good. Rob hasn't lost anything over the years. He can still belt it out with the best of 'em. I was hoping that preist wouldn't show up Sabbath, and on this night, that would have been impossible. Black Sabbath was simply incredible. It was the first time in my life that I have seen the greatest band of all time play and I wasn't disappointed at all. Ozzy looked and sounded great. Anyone that thinks that he is too old and needs to retire is absolutely out of their mind. He was so energetic and he looked like he was having the time of his life. Ozzy had the entire place yelling "Fuck You" for about three minutes while referring to his doctors that said he should have taken more time off after his ATV accident. Hilarious. I saw Ozzy solo last year in Vegas and he looked so much better this time around. It was a dream come true for me. Sabbath was the only band capable of closing out a show like this. God bless 'em. This years Ozzfest was easily the best ever. Anyone with testicles should not miss this show!
