Notes

  • This was recorded on the March 30, 2007 gig at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, hence the name.
  • The show was recorded in high definition in 2007, but was initially only released on SD DVD in 2007.  The HD Blu-Ray was not released until 2011.
  • There are actually four releases.  The 2 CD set, the DVD release, the blu-ray release, and a combination pack (“Deluxe Edition”) with some tour memorabilia (a tour program, backstage laminate, glossy photos of the band and other tour items) available only through Rhino’s website.
  • The set list was originally going to be longer than this, but problems with union workers in New York city caused the set list to not be what it was supposed to be.  Here’s an email from Geezer Butler about that situation:Unfortunately Radio City was the only night we could have played the extended set, but as has been documented, the unions were so strict, we were only allowed 15 minutes for sound check- that includes all instruments, balances, monitors, p.a., lights, camera angles etc. We didn’t actually have time to run through ear in the Wall, which was the only song missing from the final show. To include that at some other time would mean bringing the whole video crew, sound truck and engineers etc, which would be unfeasible for one track. Blame the unions, not us- at least we did an unrehearsed Lonely is the Word [and just in case you didn’t know, its a federal offense to disobey the unions, because it comes under safety laws- which means we could have been arrested as well as fined millions of dollars-go figure!].Unfortunately, i agree with most unions because they give workers rights, without which we’d all be working as slaves.Geezer
