Late in 2009 I restarted this site’s classic “Survivor” series of polls to determine your favorite track from every Black Sabbath album. This started on the forums here, but I’ve decided to move it to the website to get greater attention. I’m going to run through all the Black Sabbath studio albums by eras and then through the major solo albums after that.

We’ve gone through several eras now. The Ozzy era was completed awhile back, we went through all the Dio era, as well as the Ian Gillan/Glenn Hughes stuff. The Tony Martin era albums are all that are left. We were in the middle of that when 13 came out, so I paused the Tony Martin survivor series until we completed the poll for “13”.

Now we’re back with 1989’s Headless Cross. A note, I’m going to lump the opening track (The Gates of Hell) in with the title track of Headless Cross, because if I made TGOH a standalone track, we all know it would get voted off first. Plus it’s an instrumental intro to the Headless Cross song anyway. :)

The idea here is that YOU VOTE FOR YOUR LEAST FAVORITE SONG – not which song sucks per se, but of the available choices, the one you like the least. The one with the most votes will be removed from the list, and the list will be reposted minus that song until just one remains, as the album favorite. Each poll will run for 8 days. If you notice I have forgotten to change the poll, please contact me!
