OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: SABBATH — LONDON GIG POSTPONED – NOT CANCELED

Due to the overwhelming success of Black Sabbath’s "Farewell Tour" of the U.S., SFX Entertainment, the producers of the tour, have decided to pick up their option to extend the tour until the end of August.

Black Sabbath want their British fans to know that this is definitely not a cancellation, just a postponement, and urge you to please hold on to your tickets as they will be announcing rescheduled dates shortly.

Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill have been gobsmacked by the success of the U.S. portion of their farewell tour. Says Ozzy, “this is bitter sweet news for us. On the one hand we get to play some more shows together, but on the other hand we don’t want to let down our UK fans. For Black Sabbath it would only seem fitting to go back to our roots and end our career where it began, in the U.K.”

From Joe: I received this in email on Thursday evening the 8th right as I was about to send out the next issue of the Black Sabbath Mailing List (which is going out as I am typing this). I’m about to head home for the evening, and I’ll investigate this tomorrow, and report back what I’ve found.
