Ian I feel is one of the greatest lead vocalists of all time, not to mentioon a major talent.

^I definatly gotta agree. It’s a shame that this lineup didn’t stay together for at least another album or 2; I really liked Born Again I think its one of the best albums Sabbath’s ever released

  8. I’d love/wish to see Ian staying with the band. I bet they would make some killer records. What do you guys about that? Would it be cool?

  9. Way ahead of the time. Raw production hints at a bleak future and at the time of release very relevant. Heavy as shit and no punches pulled. Individual performances not glossed save that of Iommi. Ward and Butler still as solid as ever. Gillan is the highlite of this production IMO. Pure adrenaline. After 30 years still holds up….again the raw production helped. Metal enthusiasts will love this.

Ian Gillan was the best Sabbath vocalist, even the Ozzy era tracks sounded better with Ian. Despite some production flaws, Born Again was the BEST Sabbath album along with Heaven And Hell. When the hell are we gonna get the Worcester show and the Reading Festival show on CD in their entirety? Also, when are we gonna get a DVD of the Montreal show legally released? Why do Gillan and Iommi hide from this amazing material and performances?

Not too sure how Ian left the band in February of 84 yet managed to play dates with them through March. Pretty incredible.

    • That’s very old text. I haven’t updated the base text on the individual band member pages in quite some time. I adjusted it to say “Spring”. Which then means he didn’t work on Perfect Strangers very long that year. :)

My favorite Sabbath album. just wish they would have remixed it before the original tapes were scrapped. the original mix is muddy, mushy and washed out.
