2013 Live Video

Video is coming in from the various gigs so far down under.   I’m not going to post all of them here, just a couple.   If you’re not following me on Twitter, you should be, as I’ve been posting and or retweeting videos I spot from the concerts there.   Twitter is a pretty good tool for that kind of thing.  I know not everyone uses Twitter, and you don’t have to post, but follow my site, there’s metal and music talk there, too.

  1. Oh, Christ, Clufetos again….

  2. End of the Beginning is “Sabbath by Numbers” but I love it. I’m feeling better about the album.

    Ozzy’s voice is in tatters.

Clufetos should play behind a screen, those stupid arms waving in the air make him look like the giant squid attacking the Nautilus.

I hope the set list is similar for December, nice mix in there.

PTC, I agree with you 100% on Clufetos! He has the same drum beat for every song and same style of playing for every song. he played the same way when he was with Zombie too! I can’t stand it! I wish they would of used Mike Bordin instead. Just my opinion.

  3. A few comments. End of the Beginning – I expect this to sound sooooo good on the album. Very cool sounding song. Electric Funeral – perhaps the worst Ozzy live vocal ever as it seemed he was half a key too low or something. Couldn’t listen to the whole thing – did it get better at the end? The clips I listened to…and I love Ozzy as much as anyone, so this is all said just with love and just being real…in the low register he just can’t seem to stay on key, everything waivers in and out. In the mid range I think he actually was pretty strong. The last two and a half minutes of God is Dead? I think he kicked some ass for a 60+ year old man. As far as Tony & Geezer – man oh man the stuff sounded great. I cannot wait to see them live once they hit the States.

  4. Iommi rocked out the song black sabbath.

  5. Attended the Sydney gig last night. It was incredible, I was simply left in awe. Always my dream to see these guys live and being there was the greatest feeling ever.

I am re posting these comments with an update regarding the Brisbane gig. Yes,
Electric Funeral was a little down with Ozzy’s vocal, but that was the only slight drop in the vocal department for the Ozz, he was bang on with his vocals at the Brisbane gig. I will never watch these clips after being at the gig, but I understand other fans viewing them out of curiosity. But don’t judge on these clips, the ‘live’ gig was awesome as I have stated! All people I have talked to since the concert were blown out & some of them have been to Ozzy’s solo shows here before, & also Heaven & Hell in 2007 (which was just as awesome with Dio). They said Ozzy’s singing was far superior to his solo shows! Brilliant Sabbath.
    Here is my previous comment!
Witnessed Sabbath live last night in Brisbane, mind blowing performance from them, Ozzy was bang on with his vocals & what a treat that was. The 2 new songs sound so much better live, there good songs, classic Sabbath & fitted in perfectly with the rest of the early 70′s material. Awesome to say the least, what a night it was, they are at the top of the game big time! Wonderful set list, Iommi was devastating as usual, what a great sound he had, Geezer was thunderous as usual & whilst I am not a fan of the Tommy Clufetus style of drumming on some classic tracks, he was powerful & really pumped the band to another level in many ways! Class act Sabbath, forget the rest! Their isn’t any hard rock band near these guys!

  7. I went to the SYDNEY concert last night. The band were great. Tony and Geezer were the usual brilliant best and Ozzy was in the best form I have heard for some time. A few songs were in a different key and did sound a bit off but overall they showed why they are still the best. The 2 new songs really are growing on me and to hear them live added to that.
For the drumming, I am a big Bill and Vinnie fan and while Tommy does not have the subtlety of those 2 and it was missed on some songs, he worked his butt off for the 2 hours, did a great solo and earned the respect of those present I feel.
Having seen Sabbath in 72 and 74, H&H in 80 and 07, this will rank as one of the best. In comparing the Ozzy era and Dio era there are big differences and to compare them directly would be wrong of me, BLACK SABBATH STILL ARE THE BEST. If this is the last time around, I am so glad I saw them again. Great stage show and lighting and sound was brilliant.

  8. I’m so happy to see that Tony is playing a reasonable long gig in spite of all his very serious health problems. When it comes to the set list, I think they should have played more songs from the new album….
Does anybody know who is playing keyboards???

Hail Sabbath but it’s so difficult to accept the fact that we don’t have much better drummers and keyboardists playing the gigs…

    Peace…!!!

  9. I went to the Brisbane, Australia concet and apart from the vocals on Electric Funeral I thought Ozzy was great with all the other songs that night. In fact I didn’t expect him to be as good as he was, so it was a bonus to hear him sing as strong as he did on the night. He was also great with the crowd too and really looked to be enjoying himself throughout the entire concert.

Tony and Geezer were on fire and into the moment as well, the sound was great and everybody in the crown around me in the seated section was pumped with every one of the old tracks they did. I was on the side where Tony played and he looked to be enjoying every bit of it.

I don’t know any thing about Clufetos but he looked to be working pretty hard and I think he delivered the goods.

I left that concert wishing I had enough spare cash to jump a plane to Sydney and see it all again.

    WAW
    thanx for the videos.
Thought I would never have the chance to see a decent Sabbath show.
I was wrong, this is Awesome!!!
Hope they will manage to performe in France the 2nd Dec, already got my ticket.
Oh lord let them come to Paris!!!
The videos on Electric Funeral from all the 80’s gore movie is terrific..
And Yes Ozzy can sing the end of the song quite right!!!

  11. Look,we all love Sab here but you can’t sugar coat it: Ozzy sounds like complete and utter dog shit…and I can’t think of a more boring and misplaced drummer than Clufetos…Geez and Iommi sound good but the rest?

Also,it appears we won’t be getting many suprises as far as the set list goes…

  12. End of the beginning is a good song. I am wainting to see Black Sabbath live in Rio de Janeiro.

Does anyone know anything about a music video for “God is dead?”

  14. huge dissapointments here—- when sabbath first announced recording and touring i was beyond pumped– i said right then and there that i would do whatever it takes to be down in front when they toured, then bill ward is out big let down there as i wanted to see the original lineup again, i wont comment on tony iommi because that is totally beyond anyones control and im really glad he has beat the cancer,, that is FAR more important than any album or tour. so ok things delayed by a year which couldnt be helped— i see vip tickets will be on sale for this tour , great im in.. then i hear 2 new tracks (so far) and they both suck rick rubin has gone WAY overboard with the doom and gloom bit … then i see the set list and its the same old set list as before with couple new tunes added my enthusiasm for this whole thing is completely out the window now, and before anyone wants to get in my ass let me tell you ive been a diehard sabbath fan all of my life( its over 40 years) so this isnt just some casual fan ranting— will i stil go to the show— probably will i pay $1000 to be up front for the experience of a lifetime ?? when this was all first announced i would of said without a doubt yes i would — now im thinking this isnt worth much more than the $30 ticket to sit in the lawn section …. led zeppelin has always been my fav band first and foremost and sabbath would be number 2… zep will never tour again most likely so i was really going all out on this one but i really dont want to sit through another night of fairies wear boots, war pigs, nib, electric funeral, into the void. great songs no doubt about it but come on guys change it up you have been doing this same set since 97……ill still buy 13 because i cant judge a entire album on 2 songs only but sure hope it gets better

i love black sabbath !!! my favorite band of all time !! but from what i’ve heard so far ..i’m dissapointed …nothing special so far , … i will not pay to see them live on this tour ..really makes me sick every time i see the tommy cluefetto show !!!! what a horrible choice for a drummer …..my god there is million better drummers out there and HUMBLE !!!!!!!

    • Yes,
it’s a shame not to have Vinny Appice or Bobby Rondinelly playing the gigs as well as on the album…. Besides, Geoff Nicolls should be the keyboardist….
The point is that they( Ozzy and Sharon) want to diminish Tony’s efforts to keep the Black Sabbath name going on in the past and therefore they only want terrible musicians who have already played with Ozzy…. It’s a shame…!!!

Peace!!!! Iommi is Sabbath and Sabbath is Iommi…!!!

I love the new songs, the crowd seemed to have more have with End of the “Beginning” than “God is dead?”.

  17. TomOzzy123 says

“End of The Beginning” is becoming a classic in my mind. I think Ozzy’s voice sounds pretty good for a 64 year old man who’s been through the ringer. Tony’s playing and tone is amazing, and Geezer brings everything to lfe. I even like the drummer more and more every time I see him on YouTube. The stage show is exceptional. As far as “Electric Funeral,” if they want to do it, then they need to tune up to E flat or something–or just ax it from the set list and add a new song from 13.

  19. Brad Wilk and Tommy C. are good drummers. I don’t understand why they haven’t chosen Brad Wilk for the tour.

  20. Clufetos is doing a good job. Especially his rendering of the seventies stuff is well done. He’s a good drummer among a legion of good drummers. Therefore he’s doing the armraising stuff. Probably it his his way to keep the pace. So stop ranting. His drumming kicks ass and is better than the stomping of V. Appice and most of the other guys who stood in for the almighty Ward. We all know: nobody is able to bring back the early seventies drumming of Bill. Nobody, not even the 2013 incarnation of Bill himself. Rember what he did to himself throughout decades of his career. I suppose there is not much left of him. That might be the real reason why he is not part of the line up anymore. Don’t get me wong. I love the guy. I’m a die hard follower of sabbath for decades now. But we should be grateful of what they deliver. …
