I got an email the other day from Sab fan Daniel Renna sending me some photos from Sabbath’s tour in 1992. Here’s what he had to say about the photos he sent in:
Headless Cross Cover
It’s fitting that on the week of the 25th anniversary I discover a new cover. The Italian band “Hollow Haze” has a cover of the title track from the “Headless Cross” album. This came out a couple of years ago, but I’d never heard of it before today. Check it out, the video is […]
Happy 25th Headless Cross!
I don’t have time to write one of the giant 5,000 word essays at this time, but I didn’t want to let this anniversary pass. Today is the 25th anniversary of the Headless Cross album, originally released back in 1989. While technically the second Tony Martin era album, it felt like the “first” to me, […]
Some Thoughts on “Complete Albums” Box
Earlier this week, Rhino released a box set called “Black Sabbath: The Complete Albums 1970-1978” on CD. As I said earlier on this site, and on Twitter, this is effectively the audio from 2004’s “Black Box” just reprinted. After having it in my hands for a few days now, this is indeed what it […]
Cal Jam 1974 is 40!
Sunday April 6th is the 40th Anniversary of the famous Cal Jam Festival concert. One of the more known pieces of concert video, and was the period where Tony Iommi didn’t wear a mustache. :)
14 EP
Hot on the heels of the July 4th Hyde Park show comes this little tidbit I found in my inbox tonight. Cover art for something that should look awfully familiar to some people, who were excited about the new Black Sabbath studio release from last year. We’ve been hearing rumours of another new Sabbath […]
July 4 Concert Announced
The tour continues on. A date at Hyde Park in London on July 4th has been added. Normally this called “British Summer Time”, but it’s been amusingly renamed to “Black Sabbath Time”. A press release and video about the new gig are below. Tickets go on sale 9AM Wed Apr 2:
Bloody Valentine
A few weeks ago I happened upon a song that was released in Feb 2013 that I completely missed. It features an artist I had never heard of called Layla Milou, and our own Tony Martin. The track is called “Bloody Valentine”. I’ve never claimed I know everything, but my totally missing the track surprised […]
Complete Albums 1970-1978 Details
A few weeks ago, the original Mk I Black Sabbath output was finally made available on iTunes in the US/North America for the first time. The cover art with the set looked an awful lot like the Black Box set from 2004. Then last week, I found out about a “new” box set being […]
Black Sabbath Cake!
I’ve posted about cakes a few times in the past – I don’t know why I’m fascinated by them, but I got a pic of another Black Sabbath cake last week from a fan Maria Hernandez. When I asked her what the story behind the cake was, this is what she said..
